Little Gems Early Learning & Childcare, Albany Creek, aims to provide an enriching curriculum that extends and enriches children’s learning. The Early Years Learning Framework says that a curriculum is – “all the interactions, experiences, activities, routines and events, planned and unplanned, that occur in the environment designed to foster children’s learning and development” (source – EYLF document, pg 9). Our curriculum encompasses all of this and much more. We collaborate with families, guide children’s learning and extend on the children’s own interpretations and imaginary play. This is a continuing process of collecting evidence and information, identifying the development of learning and reflecting upon our daily practices.
Little Gems learning stories are designed to encourage children to be actively involved in their own learning process. This will enable them to experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities. The learning stories are displayed daily and weekly for all parents to see, each child also has their own learning journal that is available for parents to see at any time.

Little Gems Centre Philosophy:

Here at Little Gems Jimboomba, are dedicated to enhancing children ‘ s voices
verbal and non-verbal by encouraging children to freely share their thoughts, ideas,
and feelings knowing they will be heard. We cherish all viewpoints no matter how big
or little as crucial aspects towards their learning journey. Each child brings a
distinctive voice and perspective to our service, and we aim to provide platforms for
them to express themselves and actively engage in decision-making. By engaging
children as active participants in their learning process, we nurture an environment of
respect, collaboration, and empowerment. This approach nurtures self-confident
individuals who are ready to navigate the world with curiosity and resilience. We
believe in educators committing wholeheartedly to each child’ s growth and
development journey. We understand that as educators we play a pivotal role in
shaping learning and fostering a nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Our educators actively engage with each child, providing personalised support,
guidance, and encouragement. We prioritise building strong, trusting relationships
with children, highlighting their unique strengths, interests, and needs. Through
ongoing observations, reflections, and intentional teaching practices, we strive to
create meaningful learning opportunities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical
thinking and help children meet individual goals. We are dedicated to nurturing
strong partnerships with families based on mutual respect, open communication, and
shared goals for children ‘ s development. Valuing families as essential collaborators
in the educational journey, we prioritise developing trusting relationships and
involving them in decision-making. Cultivating a caring and supportive environment
where families feel valued, respected, and heard in their child’ s early learning
journey is a goal we thrive on at Little Gems. The significance of establishing a
partnership with families, allows us to appreciate unique perspectives and
contributions highlighting our belief that no two families are alike. Little Gems
Jimboomba engages with the community through partnerships with One Body
Pilates and JUMP swim school to promote physical fitness, balance, coordination,
and water safety. They focus on creating a supportive environment for children to
thrive through educational activities. We are dedicated to actively engaging with the
wider community to enrich the learning experiences of children in our care. We
recognise the importance of collaboration beyond our walls, understanding that the
community plays a vital role in supporting children ‘ s holistic development.
