About Us
Little Gems is a family owned and operated early learning centre at Albany Creek, Queensland. We are a purpose built childcare centre that is air conditioned and has large natural play spaces and large rooms. Each child’s needs and interests are built on in a caring and loving environment. We use the “positive guiding technique” rather than a negative approach to ensure that each child develops in an engaging, happy environment.
Meals
Little Gems provides nutritionally balanced morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Our aim is to have children participation in the preparation of morning and afternoon tea. We also implement a progressive meal time to ensure that we meet the changing needs of the children in our care. This flexibility allows the children to eat when they are hungry and also meet the changing needs on a day by day basis.
Lockers
Each child is allocated a locker. This allows parents to know where their child’s belongings will be kept and also allows children to care and look after their own belongings.
Toys
We would appreciate your help in encouraging your children to keep all toys at home as these can be misplaced or broken. We provide natural play spaces and resources to ensure that children are engaged throughout the day. Please bring in special comforters for your child if required.
Policies
All policy documents and procedures are freely available from the front reception at Little Gems childcare.
Communication
Communication is vital for parents & educators. You will receive a weekly update via email from the Directors that provides communication about the policies, staff holidays, upcoming events at the service and much more. This helps families to gain a further insight into the running of the centre, enhancing the link between life and home. It also allows parents to read the weekly update when they can enjoy some quiet time.

Testimonials
Good Words about Albany Creek Little Gems
Both of my children have gone to Little Gems Albany Creek with my oldest now in primary school and my youngest just about to start kindy. I can honestly say all the staff are fantastic and both my kids have loved them all. We are always greeted by a friendly smile and a chat about my child’s day at pick up. It’s like another family for my kids. Both my children have made some great friends at the centre and my son, who is going into grade 2, still converses with his old teachers when we pick up his sister. I would definitely recommend Little Gems to family and friends. We have definitely been very happy over the past 6 years we have been there.
— Ashley
Since our son Levi was born our biggest concern was what daycare do we put him in! After recommendations to Little Gems we popped in for a tour of the centre and from that the rest was history. The playground is outstanding and more than what my partner and I expected when we arrived (which we are sure when Levi gets older he will absolutely love it). The staff go above an beyond and from what we can see Levi is developing extremely well and with out a doubt comes home joyful every afternoon. What makes it better is they service everything from nursery all the way to kindergarten which makes our lives easier up until school “always a bonus”.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at Little Gems. This year has been a massive year for our family and I can honestly say the childcare transition has been so easy. Casey has grown so much this year. He is learning new things every day; numbers, letters, songs, dances and play skills. Casey loves childcare; his friends, the educators and the play space. Every single staff member I have come in contact with has been so lovely. You all know us so well already. It doesn’t matter if Casey see’s one of the educators from his room (who of course are amazing Moira and Anneleise) or one of the other wonderful educators, he is always comfortable to say hi and give a big smile and they always seem to know his name. The connection with the primary school is great as well. We have lots of cross over between Ethan and Rhys’ friends and siblings that know Casey from childcare. Thank you for making 2019 year easier for us. You have provided us with our first sense of community here (shout out to Ashleigh for her baby sitting and to Hayley for being so welcoming) which we really appreciate. I hope you all have a wonderful 2020 and know you will continue to do great things! Thank you
— Amanda
Our daughter has been attending the centre for three years. She started shortly after her 1st birthday in the nursery and has loved it from day 1! She has had great educators throughout her time there, and they still say hello and play with her when out in the playground. We are always welcomed by all the educators and staff from the centre when we arrive in the morning. Our daughter loves coming to Little Gems and has made wonderful friendships with the staff and children there!
— Rebecca
My daughter has been attending Little Gems Child Care & Early Learning Centre, Albany Creek, since she was 6 months old. The first day of day care is generally more traumatic for the parents and I was certainly put at ease by the wonderful staff. My daughter is now 3 and has made a beautiful circle of friends and has a wonderful rapport with all the teachers. I would highly recommend sending your children to this fabulous centre.
— Heidi
My daughter Madeline has attended Little Gems Early Learning Centre for approximately 3 years and has recently moved up to the grasshoppers room.
Our experience with the centre and staff has always been extremely positive and enjoyable. Madeline loves to go to daycare and has a lovely group of friends. The staff go out of their way to make sure she is happy and let me know how her day was.
I would and have recommended the centre to friends and family.
— Jo
Our daughter has been attending the centre for three years. During this time she has had consistent staff which is very important for her as she thrives better with familiar faces. The staff always give her a warm welcome and genuinely care about her social, emotional and intellectual development. I always feel I am able to speak with staff about any concerns and they are keen to help teach and encourage our daughter with things that we have requested. Our daughter loves coming to daycare and has made wonderful friendships with the staff and children.
— Deanne
My little man (aged 19m) has been attending Little Gems for about a year, since before changing owners and name, and I have to say that he thoroughly enjoys his time there. Not only is he coming home having learnt new things just about daily, but he has made many friends as well. The team are always friendly and helpful and give updates on my boy’s day so we know what he’s been up to and how he’s interacted with the other kids during various activities. I think he gets a lot out of being in an environment with other children, and being able to mix with kids of various ages as well. Well done and thank you to the team for helping teach and shape my little man.

Happy Feet Fitness instructors appreciate a great time, but always have the intended impact and https://www.happyfeetfitness.com.au/why-choose-us/care-centres/ holistic growth of your children in mind.
Billy’s Buddies– Every Wednesday
We are a Ball Sports Program for kids aged 2-7 and are the home of Non-Contact Rugby League for children. At Billy’s Buddies, we love all sports, not just Rugby League. Like Billy, we want all of our children to become great team players and learn the importance of teamwork.
